Civic, Social and Political Education (CSPE) is taught to all Junior Certificate students. It aims to help students to become actively involved in the community, country and the wider world.
There are Seven Concepts of CSPE
1. Rights and responsibilities
2. Human dignity
3. Community
4. Stewardship
5. Democracy
6. Law
7. Interdependence
In the Junior Certificate CSPE is both exam based and project based:
- a written examination,which is worth 40% of your final grade and
- a report on your participation in an action project or the presentation of a course work assessment booklet. This report is worth 60% of the total examination mark.
