Senior
New School jacket, school navy jumper, school tie white shirt and black trousers along with fully black footwear and no coloured logos.
All students must have school jackets. No other jackets are permitted. The school jacket along with the jumper and tie can be bought from the school office.
Students without full uniform may be sent home following contact with their parents / guardians to return in full uniform.
If a written explanation is provided when a student is not in full uniform, replacement items of uniform may be loaned to students and must be worn.
Senior Jackets
The student voice group in the College have asked for a different jacket for seniors and we had lengthy discussions with them about this. They chose a jacket that they really liked. So all students must have full uniform including a jacket in August. The cost of the jacket will be €45:00 and this will be available to buy from the school.
PE Days
Many students have asked that we continue to allow them to wear PE gear in on PE days and we have considered this. We want to make sure that we put as little expense as possible on you so we have decided that if your son wants to wear PE gear in rather than change in the school then they will have to wear black bottoms, a black t-shirt, black runners and a school sports top which will be available to buy in the College with a cost of €35:00. Other wise they can continue to wear their uniform in and change for PE.
College Sports Top – available from school office : €35
Books
All junior students can opt into the book rental scheme and all books excluding workbooks and novels will be given out as the school opens up.
Book list were sent out to all senior students in June– it is so important that your son has all of his books in August ready to pursue his Leaving Certificate Course. There is no time to waste in this important year. Please make sure that he has all of his books on return. This is so important as students will fall behind very quickly if they do not have their books.
All students must have a school bag and the journals will be given out when they come in by their tutors.
Each student will need pens/ pencils/ coloring pencils /ruler/ some hardback a4 notebooks / 10 soft back copy books
Food
The School Food company provide a canteen service to the school. All students receive a free filled roll and fruit at morning break. They are asked to bring their own water bottle with them to fill from our water stations around the school. Hot Lunches are also served at lunch which are heavily subsided. So your son only needs €3 per day for his lunch. He is of course welcome to bring in his own packed lunch but there is no facility for juniors to go to the shops or ask anyone to go for them. We are a healthy eating school so no fizzy drinks / any drink with sugar is not allowed and will be taken from the student.
Journal
The journal provides an opportunity for communication between teachers and parents. Teachers can use the journal to comment on a student’s behaviour and work rate by writing a note to be signed by the parents in the weekly diary section.
It is essential to the success of students in the school that parents regularly check this journal for comments by the teachers on homework, books, preparation for class etc. Parents are asked to indicate, by their signature, that they have checked their son’s journal each week.
It is by working together in this manner that we support our students best in their education.
Please take the time to read through the journal and sign the relevant sections. The calendar for the school year is also there so you can see any days that the school is closed for your planning. You will find lots of information about the school in the front section.
