Our Literacy Tree is in Full Bloom

On Friday the finishing touches were added to our literacy tree in the GP area.  Everyone agreed that it really spruced up the place.  The seed for this tree was planted earlier in the year, when first years took up their reading challanges.

First year students were encouraged to read books and perhaps even branch out and pick books they wouldn’t normally go for.  Ms. Flannery and her team of volunteers spent some time pruning the tree and it is now blooming.  It is hoped that the students’ love of reading has also taken root.

So for all you budding readers you should take a leaf out of these students’ books and get some reading done over the summer.
