James Talbot wins FAI International Player of the Year

Congratulations to our James Talbot who is currently in 5th year and has won this year’s FAI Football awards as Under 16 International Player of the Year. The FAI International Football Awards took place on Sunday February 3, 2013 at RTÉ studios. The awards were broadcast live on RTÉ Two at 8.00pm and streamed live on RTÉ.ie within the Republic of Ireland. Check out RTE Player.
James has also been recently signed by Sunderland and will start there this July. Well done James!!
The FAI announced have the nominations for the 23rd ‘Three’ FAI International Football Awards, which will take place on Sunday February 3, 2013 at RTÉ studios.

Keith Andrews is among the nominees for the Senior International Player of the Year Award
The awards will be broadcast live on RTÉ Two at 8.00pm and streamed live on RTÉ.ie within the Republic of Ireland.
Among the nominees are; James McCarthy, Kevin Doyle and Keith Andrews who have been nominated for the Senior International Player of the Year Award. James McCarthy picks up another nomination along with Robbie Brady and Seamus Coleman for the Young Player of the Year Award.
Three goals have been nominated for the Three International Goal of the Year.
The nominees are; Marc Wilson for his long distance strike against the Faroe Islands in the World Cup Qualifier Group C clash (16/10/12), Robbie Brady for his debut goal against Oman in September (11/9/11).
Kevin Doyle is nominated for his last minute decider over Kazakhstan which helped Ireland secure a vital three points in our opening Group C World Cup Qualifier last September (7/9/12).
Current Shamrock Rovers duo Jason McGuinness and Mark Quigley, along with Sligo Rovers midfielder Danny Ventre have all been given the nod as nominees for the Airtricity League Player of the Year Award.
The nominations, which were chosen by a panel from the Soccer Writers’ Association of Ireland, are divided into 18 categories. Among the awards being presented at the special ceremony.
A former Republic of Ireland great will be inducted into the FAI’s Hall of Fame, while there will also be a Special Merit Award, and an International Personality of the Year Award, all of which will be announced at the event.
